About The Photographer
Hi everyone! My name is Mark, and I’m a concert & event photographer.
I started photography when I was very young, receiving my first camera (a Minolta point & shoot 35mm film camera). After a lot of trial and error, I started learning how the camera worked, but a point & shoot didn’t offer me enough flexibility, I wanted to learn more. While in high school, I took a couple of photography classes, and learned how to fully use and understand a completely manual 35mm SLR. I learned how to roll my own film, process my own negatives, and develop my own photos. It was in the darkroom that I learned my true calling, photography.
I spent a number of years progressing my talent, and continuing to learn more. After high school, I had a falling out with photography. I stopped shooting for a long while, as other aspects of my life took precedence. I never stopped loving photos or photography, I just took a long hiatus from it. I wasn’t sure that I’d ever get back into photography, but that changed really quickly one day.
Christmas came one year, and my dad had bought me a brand new Nikon N65 35mm SLR! It reignited the fire that got me into photography. I shot TONS, everything from landscapes to skateboarding to cars and people, I was having a blast with it all.
Over the years, I moved away from film, and into the realm of digital. I owned many point & shoot digital cameras over the years, but they never did more than take snapshots. Eventually, they all ended up in my desk drawer to collect dust because they just weren’t enjoyable to use, and the picture quality was sub par.
